About the Role
As a Software Engineer on the Defense & Intelligence team, you will develop secure AI systems tailored for government and defense applications. You'll build mission-critical software that meets the highest standards of reliability, security, and compliance while leveraging Sakana AI's unique model capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy AI systems for defense and intelligence use cases in secure environments
- Build infrastructure that meets stringent government security and compliance requirements
- Design air-gapped and on-premise deployment solutions for sensitive workloads
- Collaborate with government partners to understand mission requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Implement robust testing, monitoring, and validation pipelines for high-assurance systems
- Work closely with the cybersecurity team to ensure system integrity
Qualifications
- 3+ years of software engineering experience in secure or government environments
- Strong systems programming skills (Python, C++, Go, or Rust)
- Experience with secure software development practices and security frameworks
- Familiarity with government cloud environments and compliance standards
- Ability to obtain and maintain relevant security clearances
- English proficiency required; Japanese language skills are a plus
