About the Role
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work directly with Sakana AI's strategic customers to implement and customize AI solutions for their specific needs. You'll be embedded with customer teams, understanding their challenges firsthand and building tailored integrations that deliver measurable impact.
Responsibilities
- Work on-site or closely with strategic enterprise customers to deploy Sakana AI solutions
- Build custom integrations, data pipelines, and application layers for customer use cases
- Translate customer requirements into technical specifications and implementation plans
- Debug and optimize model performance in customer-specific environments and data contexts
- Provide technical guidance and training to customer engineering teams
- Feed customer insights back to product and research teams to improve core offerings
Qualifications
- 3+ years of software engineering experience with customer-facing technical work
- Full-stack development skills with experience in Python, cloud infrastructure, and APIs
- Strong communication skills and comfort presenting to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with ML/AI deployment in production environments
- Self-directed problem solver who thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- English proficiency required; Japanese language skills are strongly preferred
