About the Role

Lead an engineering pod of 5-8 Java engineers delivering platform work for Iris's largest enterprise clients in banking, capital markets, and payments. You'll set the technical bar, own delivery commitments, and act as the senior technical voice in client conversations.

What you'll do

Lead a pod of 5-8 Java engineers across the full delivery lifecycle
Define technical architecture and make build-vs-buy decisions for the platform
Own delivery commitments, sprint planning, and engineering velocity
Engage directly with client architects and engineering leadership on roadmap
Set engineering standards: code quality, testing, observability, on-call practices
Coach engineers on career growth; partner with HR on hiring and retention

What we're looking for

10+ years of hands-on Java engineering experience
At least 3 years in a technical leadership or tech lead role
Deep expertise in Spring Boot, microservices, AWS/Azure, and event-driven systems (Kafka, Kinesis)
Track record of leading distributed teams and shipping complex platforms
Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management
BFSI / capital markets domain experience is a strong plus
