Engineering Manager - Social Listening

We’re building one of Spotify’s most social and engaging experiences: Jam. Jam brings people together through music, enabling friends and groups to listen in real time, wherever they are. It transforms listening from a solo activity into a shared experience and plays an important role in how Spotify connects users through audio. You’ll join a cross-functional team working across mobile, backend, and platform technologies to shape how millions of people experience music together.

What You'll Do

Lead, support, and grow a team of engineers across iOS, Android, backend, and cross-platform technologies

Drive delivery of features that power real-time, shared listening experiences

Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to shape vision, strategy, and roadmaps

Guide the team through complex technical challenges such as real-time synchronization, device connectivity, and cross-platform consistency

Enable high-quality, reliable user experiences across devices and platforms

Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and strong engineering practices

Create an inclusive and healthy team environment where individuals can grow and do their best work

Who You Are

You have experience leading and developing engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management

You are experienced with building and scaling complex systems, ideally in real-time or distributed environments

You have a strong understanding of software engineering across mobile and backend technologies

You care about building inclusive, collaborative teams and creating a positive team environment

You are comfortable working across disciplines and influencing product and technical direction

You balance execution with long-term thinking and make thoughtful, pragmatic decisions

You have experience solving challenges related to synchronization, connectivity, or cross-platform development

Where You'll Be

This role is based in London or Stockholm

We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
