Who we are
Helsing is a defence AI company. Our mission is to protect our democracies. We aim to achieve technological leadership, so that open societies can continue to make sovereign decisions and control their ethical standards.
As democracies, we believe we have a special responsibility to be thoughtful about the development and deployment of powerful technologies like AI. We take this responsibility seriously.
We are an ambitious and committed team of engineers, AI specialists and customer-facing programme managers. We are looking for mission-driven people to join our European teams and apply their skills to solve the most complex and impactful problems. We embrace an open and transparent culture that welcomes healthy debates on the use of technology in defence, its benefits, and its ethical implications.
The role
Helsing is building AI systems for some of the most demanding environments in the world. As Product Manager for AI Assurance and Simulation, you will define and deliver the tools that allow engineers to trust, test and deploy AI safely on advanced airborne systems. This is a new product area, and you will shape it from first principles: setting strategy, building the roadmap and working directly with engineering and autonomy teams to move from concept to validated capability. Your decisions will have a direct bearing on flight test campaigns and development velocity, making this a role with genuine ownership and real-world consequence

The day-to-day
- Research and synthesise user needs across engineering and autonomy teams, translating operational pain points into clearly scoped product requirements that directly inform roadmap priorities
- Define and own the product strategy and feature roadmap for AI assurance and simulation tooling, aligning stakeholders across technical and leadership levels around a coherent, deliverable plan
- Partner with engineering teams to scope, prioritise and ship minimum viable products that measurably accelerate flight test readiness and reduce validation cycle times
- Make structured trade-off decisions between technical debt and new capability, maintaining development velocity without compromising safety or assurance standards
- Communicate product direction, progress and risks to leadership with clarity and precision, enabling informed investment decisions and strategic alignment
You should apply if you
- Have defined and shipped products in technical or safety-critical domains, with a working understanding of software validation, testing or AI assurance
- Can translate complex, ambiguous system requirements into actionable roadmaps and measurable delivery milestones
- Have built effective working relationships across engineering, autonomy and leadership teams, adapting your communication clearly for each audience
- Have conducted user research and discovery in emerging or early-stage product areas, turning uncertainty into structured, prioritised action
- Are motivated by mission-critical work and understand the weight of deploying AI in high-consequence environments
Note: We operate in an industry where women, as well as other minority groups, are systematically under-represented. We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet all the listed qualifications; ability and impact cannot be summarised in a few bullet points.
Nice to have
- Have worked in aerospace, defence or another safety-critical industry, with some familiarity with certification frameworks or regulatory standards
- Bring hands-on experience in software engineering or data science, or have previously shipped developer tools or simulation environments
